This time, we invite you to get to know Emily Whitney, TLA Lighting Application Engineer/Inside Sales, who just reached her 5-year milestone with The Lighting Agency.

We’re so lucky to work with Emily and benefit from her expertise in architectural and entertainment lighting. But would you be surprised to hear there’s also some rock n’ roll in her background? Keep reading to find out!

What was your path to TLA?

I worked in the entertainment lighting field for 15 years, primarily designing, installing, running, and loading out sales conferences throughout the United States.

“I had a brief stint as a roadie during my rock’ n’ roll years. I was running lights for a band at the Denver Botanical Gardens when a certain TLA employee approached me regarding the console that I was using. It turned out that TLA was a rep for Chauvet, who had recently acquired the Chamsys console line, which had been my daily console for years.

After that conversation, I decided to turn in my resume and see where it would lead. I am glad that I did!”

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

If you ever see me out and about, I will be the one who is looking up at all the lights!

“My recreational activities include kayaking, camping, woodworking, and traveling.”

What’s your favorite thing about your role at TLA?

“My coworkers are the best at TLA; it’s the number one perk of working here. I just love working with a solid team.”
