If you know anything about TLA, it’s that we pride ourselves on being a people-centered business. That’s what makes TLA an excellent place to build a career—not just to have a job.
But, don’t take it from us! We invite you to read more about Chris Davis, Specification Sales, as he celebrates 25 years with The Lighting Agency.
What was your path to TLA?
When my family moved to Colorado, we were highly recommended to talk to Art Fisher, founder of The Lighting Agency. He had the leadership and a passion for lighting that resonated with me.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I grew up an avid ice and mountain climber, traveling in both the USA and Europe. Life threw me a curve ball from a mosquito bite, and now I focus on manufacturing inventions, traveling, and am a bit of a motorhead.
When I am not enjoying the company of my wife, you can usually find me in the shop making fun things or modifying cars and trucks.
What stands out from your time at TLA?
After about 2 months in the hospital, when I returned to work, the support I received from my coworkers as I continued to recover warmed my heart.
My favorite thing about my job is the camaraderie that I’ve developed with my coworkers and specifiers. They are more than just friends to me.
25 years later, what do you think it is about TLA that makes people want to stick around?
Most places I see struggle to keep folks for 5 years—yet we keep them for decades. And as such, some of my closest friends sit right next to me and have for 10-20 years or more! That means the world to my heart.
When I have needed extra support, tools, or advice to do my job better, the answer has always been positive. It has allowed me to grow and to feel more like a team member.
Let’s all give three cheers for Chris! We’re honored to work alongside you at TLA.
