Lighting Applications Engineer - Denver
We are looking for a highly focused, driven, friendly, organized, results-oriented Lighting Applications Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO.
The role of the Lighting Applications Engineer will predominantly consist of supporting the outside sales personnel, their clients, and the quotes department. The support and assistance you provide will include but is not limited to: assembling design build packages, providing budget pricing for lighting, running point by point lighting calculations, building spec sheet packages, project managing small quotes under a total value of $25,000, fielding inbound cold calls to the agency and providing quarterly updates to the sales team on what’s new.
Job Duties and Functions
- Assisting the department manager with project lighting calculations.
- Answering technical questions from clients on products and projects.
- Standing as the main point of contact for all sales team members when they are not in the office.
- Answer product questions from specifiers, including architects, engineers, lighting designers, contractors, etc.
- Providing Design/Build proposals, lighting calculations, alternates for bids, and a variety of lighting packages tailored to the client.
- Backup for putting together submittals for approval packages.
- Budget pricing for specifiers, contractors, and distributors.
- Making calls with factory representatives when needed.
- Provide TLA showroom tours.
- Assisting specifiers in selecting luminaires and providing lighting design ideas.
Applicant Requirements
- Experience running lighting calculations with Visual and/or AGi32
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, lighting design, or related fields
- Degree in electrical or architectural engineering is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range from $70k – $85k depending on experience and skillset.

Quotations Specialist - Denver
The following position will be based in Denver, Colorado as a Quotation Specialist at The Lighting Agency, one of the leading Manufacturers Sales Representative Agencies in the Industry.
Position Description
- Managing projects from start to finish
- Responsible for providing quotations to customers by coordinating bid strategy with Project Managers and Outside Sales Representatives
- Build, update, and maintain a bill of material by reviewing plans, schedules, specification sheets, and coordinating with manufacturers to provide accurate pricing
- Coordinates with Distribution / Contractors / Specification teams through the submittal process to finalize and clarify project requirements to ensure quality output
- Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders
- Update and Manage a project-based CRM tool
Applicant Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural drawings
- Knowledge of the lighting supply chain process or have similar experience within construction material procurement.
- Establish and maintain customer relationships, via phone and email communication
- Able to meet deadlines.
- Experience with OASIS for Sales Agents a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook

Outside Specification Sales - Colorado Springs
We are looking for a highly focused, driven, friendly, organized, results-oriented Outside Salesperson to work with our main specification customer base in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Successful candidates will be responsible for the promotion of The Lighting Agency’s products, as well as the education of our customers. You will use your verbal communication skills and experience to work with architects, electrical engineers, interior designers, and lighting designers in a partnership to successfully win projects and increase sales.
Essential Duties
- Maintain professional presence and use discretion with actions and speech.
- Stays constantly informed of our products and technologies.
- Display or demonstrate product, using samples, catalogs, or electronic presentations, and emphasizes salable features.
- Maintain, and organize business receipts, and complete monthly expense reports for a corporate card ($1,100/month standard).
- Any customer trips and/or special events require discussion and prior approval.
- Coordinate customer training.
- Process sample, quotation, and product information requests.
- Visit customers’ offices when required for presentations, samples, job problems, etc.
- Virtual presentations of products and services when needed.
- Work closely with your colleagues and be a team player.
- Keep Dynamics365 (.ie CRM) updated regularly so everyone on your team is aware of any actions needed or work that has been done.
- Work with your ILS (Inside Lighting Support) team to provide layouts, crosses, design-build documents, etc.
Experience Requirements
- Our ideal candidates have strong sales experience and are familiar with the construction industry. An outgoing, sales-oriented individual outside the construction industry with excellent verbal communications skills would also be considered.
- You are a high achiever and a positive motivator whom our customers want to work with.
- You must be located in, or near, the Colorado Springs area
Physical/Environmental
- Job position responsibilities are generally performed in a business office environment with computers, printers, and phones. But will sometimes require project visits to active job sites.
- Will require the setting up of small trade booths for local exhibitions/shows.
- May require some lifting up to 50 lbs for sample cases.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural drawings.
- Know or the ability to learn technical knowledge of lighting products.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve ambitious sales goals.

- Base salary range between $60,000 – $80,000 with potential for additional commissions that exceed base salary

Customer Service Representative - Colorado Springs
The Lighting Agency is looking for an experienced, customer-minded, approachable, and accountable Customer Service Representative to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.
The role of the Customer Service Representative deals with day-to-day job issues, ordering, ship dates, handling job problems and questions that may come up from distributors and contractors.
Job Duties and Expectations
- Assemble and mark-up submittal documents and operation & maintenance manuals
- Convert orders from multiple order entry software programs
- Assure that purchase orders are correct to approvals and quotes
- Answering and redirecting incoming phone calls
- Request estimated ship dates and enter orders with vendors
- Acknowledge customer requests, process RGA’s, and post sales claims within 24 hours of receipt
- Organize and manage emails within order entry software
- Address manufacturer order issues within 24 hours of receipt
- Assist with factory training events
- Distributing and filing correspondence and manufacturer literature
- Organizing and tracking manufacturer samples
Job Requirements
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite & Office 365
- BlueBeam proficiency a plus, Adobe Acrobat skills are also acceptable
- Understanding of commercial lighting, controls, or construction industry a plus.
